New ways of thinking about old problems lead to new solutions... and free software allows us to reuse coding solutions in new projects. As you might have guessed, most of our engineers work with software rather than hardware, but the dividing line grows thinner with each passing of Moore's Law. We dream of the day when space will be a normal destination -- not just the research venue of a lucky few. Beyond that, we look forward to the day when starships are not just plot elements in a television show... and hope it comes within our lifetime.
